The hospitality sector is expected to hire in big numbers and there will be a huge demand for the talent to keep pace with the demand. Hotel chains across the country are ramping up recruitment, with new room additions slated to reach more than 14,000 this year, Aneesh Phadnis reports for businessline. Indian Hotels Company Limited, which runs the Taj Group of Hotels, is planning to open 20 properties in FY24 and hire 2,500 direct employees. They have also started a leadership accelerator programme as per the report.
Hotels like Novotel and Ibis owned by the Accor group are expected to hire 800 plus employees and are offering various internal developmental programmes to retain staff.
Post pandemic the hospitality industry has taken a very sturdy recovery path, and many stalled projects are being completed now. Along with usual destinations like Goa and Kerala, Tier 3 locations like Dehradun, Shillong, and Haridwar are expected to see a very hight percentage of additional rooms.

Hiring growth is expected to increase by 10-15% during the upcoming festive season, according to Suchita Dutta, Executive Director of the Indian Staffing Federation.

Departments like front office, sales, kitchen, events, housekeeping, bartending etc. will have several job positions wide open.
